Lion on the Central Axis – Temple of Heaven Art Run and Creative Journey
In March 2026, the M CULTURE Exchange Lion on the Central Axis – Temple of Heaven Art Run and Creative Journey, a cultural philanthropy initiative jointly organized by Diaoyutai MGM Hospitality and China Friendship Foundation for Peace and Development, was officially launched at the Temple of Heaven Park in Beijing.

With the culture of the Beijing Central Axis at its core, this initiative adopts an innovative format that integrates international contemporary artistic perspectives with cross-border integration of art and sport. The event invites Brad Kunkle, this year’s M Culture Artist of the Year and an internationally renowned American artist celebrated for his gold-leaf creation techniques, to conduct a field trip along the Beijing Central Axis for on-site inspiration and artistic creation. The initiative aims to reinterpret the profound cultural heritage and contemporary value of the Beijing Central Axis, promote the revitalization of China’s outstanding traditional culture, and deepen international people-to-people and cultural exchanges. By integrating artistic creation with the Temple of Heaven Art Run, the initiative bridges art and sport, offering the public an immersive way to experience the enduring beauty of Chinese traditional architecture and culture.

This marks the fourth consecutive year that MGM has carried out the M CULTURE public welfare initiative in the Chinese mainland. As the second annual journey of the M CULTURE Exchange series, this event was held under the guidance of the Chinese People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, and received special support from the Administrative Office of the Temple of Heaven Park, Beijing.
